Alice Barrens is a performance-led multidisciplinary artist based in Edinburgh, Scotland. Through her work, Alice explores lived experience, digital culture, attention, and the small humiliations that accumulate in everyday life. These concerns are situated within contemporary social and economic systems of exposure. Her practice examines patterns of voluntary endurance and masochism that have become normalised through constant surveillance and demand for self-optimisation.
